Mastigum speed
Quick Drying Dual Component Elastic Bitumen Mastic
Cat no. – Component A – 232, Component B - 233
Mastigum Speed is bituminous elastomeric dual component sealant for quick drying. The product consists of a paste component (component A) and a powder component (component B). Mastigum Speed offers superior waterproofing properties, flexibility and elasticity in a wide range of temperatures (-10°c to 110°c). Application is simple and easy, required no heating. The quick drying property of Mastigum Speed allows performance of sealing through flooding test at the end of 36 hours from completing the application. Mastigum Speed is also suitable for application on vertical surfaces. It is applied cold, and in neither toxic nor flammable.
Application
Mastigum Speed is used to waterproof basement walls, foundation floors, showers and patio floors (prior to tiling) and roof gardens (by adding special anti root agent). Mastigum speed can be applied by airless spray, brush or trowel.

MASTIGUM SPEED- Quick Drying Dual Component Elastic Bitumen Mastic
Cat no. – Component A – 232, Component B - 233
Version 09/15
Method of application:
General:
Application should be performed on a stable, clean and dry concrete (not foamed concrete) that was casted minimum 30 days prior to application.
Remove intensively all loose particles. Walls and floor meeting corners should be rounded. Narrow and deep holes should be filled, using cement mortar.
Prior to application, clean the surface thoroughly to remove all dirt.
Preparation of the components for application:
Pour the powder component (B) into the paste component (A) slowly and continuously, constantly mixing the paste component with a mixer mounted on an electrical drill.
Mix the mixture thoroughly for 2 minutes, until a smooth paste free of lumps is obtained. From this moment, the product can be applied for up to 60 minutes from completing the mixing process (in case of brush or trowel application). In case of spray application, you have to apply the material within 20 minutes after mixing.
Do not wait any longer to avoid thickening of the paste.
Sealing Procedure:
1) To waterproof basement walls:
- If the basement floor was sealed with bitumen membranes, apply low heat over the sheets to deposit the dirt and bring out melted bitumen. Apply 300 gm/m² of Mastigum Primer, diluted with water in a ratio of 1:1, on top of the fresh bitumen membranes prior to applying Msatigum Speed.
- Spray a layer of Mastigum Speed on the surfaces. Use 4.5 kg/m2 of Mastigum Speed. Allow to dry for 3 days.
- In case thicker membrane is needed, apply two layers of 3.5 kg/m² Mastigum the second layer will be applied 5 - 18 hours after the application of the first layer. apply 250 gm/m² Primer 105, diluted with water in a ratio of 1:5, between the two layers, let it dry for 1 - 2 hours prior to the application of the second layer of Mastigum Speed. Allow to dry for 5 days.
- Spread a geo-textile fleece in weight of 200 gm/m² over the waterproofing layer and then spread protection membranes such as Protect 5 prior to covering.

2) To waterproof bathrooms & shower floors prior to tiling:
- Apply Mastigum Primer, diluted with water in a ratio of 1:1, 300 gm/m², over horizontal surfaces and the rolled seams. Allow to dry 1 hour.
- Apply a layer of Mastigum Speed on the horizontal surfaces and rolled seams. Use 1.5 kg. Of Mastigum Speed per square meter. Allow to dry for 2-3 hours.
- Apply a second layer of Mastigum Speed. Use 1.5 kg. per square meter. Allow to dry for 12 hours.
- Fill in sand and lay the tiles, or lay ceramic tiles directly onto the sealing layer through adhesion.
3) To waterproof tiled roofs:
General:
The sealed infrastructure shall be a stable concrete infrastructure and not
foamed concrete (light concrete).
- Apply 250 gm/m² of Aquapoxy.
Drying time:1-2 hours. In case of a porous concrete, apply additional
layer of Aquapoxy in quantity of 150-200 gm/m² .Allow to dry 1-2
- Apply a layer of Mastigum Speed on the horizontal surfaces
and the rolled seams. Consumption : 2.25 kg/m² for roofs up to
15 m², 3.00 kg/m² for roofs bigger than 15 m².
Allow to dry for 3-4 hours.
- Apply Primer 116 diluted with double quantity of water, in
consumption of 200 gm/m², let it dry for 20 - 30 minutes.
- Apply a second layer of Mastigum Speed. consumption - 2.25
kg/m² for roofs up to 15 m², 3.00 kg/m² for roofs bigger than 15
m². Allow to dry for 3 dry days.

- Apply Primer 116, 300 gm/m²,and spread 150 gm/m²
geotextile fleece onto the fresh material. Let it dry for 16 hours.
- Fill in sand and lay the tiles, or lay ceramic tiles by direct
adhesion onto the geotextile fleece.
- To waterproof roof gardens:
follow the instructions for waterproofing of tiled roofs , while adding Anti Root agent to the Mastigum Speed (one small can for every pail).
A day after spreading the geotextile fleece, spread HDPE smooth membranes, 0.55 mm (Protect 5) onto the horizontal and vertical surfaces. the overlaps width will be 10 cm and should be sealed with Butyl tape with thin HDPE foil on top. The same treatment should be given to the edge of membranes in the parapet walls, after smoothing the concrete and applying Primer 116 (300 gm/m²).
Apply appropriate drainage membranes on top of HDPE smooth layer and fill the soil.
